MOM, DON’T KILL ME !

1.    Preliminary

Current abortion be one serious problem, seen from high number of abortions from year to year. Abortion is considered by most people as an act of murder because the fetus is in the womb have a right to life.

Abortion will give a very serious impact that cause morbidity and mortality in woman. Abortion is usually performed by a pregnant women, either already married even unmarried with a variety of reasons.

The most important reason of the abortion is a non medical reasons, such as do not want to have children for fear of disturbing carier, school and don’t want to produce a child without a father.

Another reason is often asked is still young (those who became pregnant outside of marriage) and can make a disgrace to the family.

2.    Definition

Abortion is an act termination of pregnancy (due to certain reasons) before the pregnancy is able to live outside the womb. Where the weight is still under 500 grams or before 20 weeks gestation.

In Indonesia abortion generally is those aged 15 – 24 years old. It happened due to several factors. In general, the causes of abortion is juvenile delinquency namely ‘free sex’.

The abortion rate in Indonesia reached 2,5 million people per year. The results showed that in Indonesia occurred 42 abortion per 100 pregnancies. In addition, 78% of urban women and about 22% of rural is abortion deliberately.

3.    List Of Risk Factors

§  Terminating a pregnancy that is wanted or meaningful,

§  Perceived pressure from others to terminate a pregnancy,

§  Perceived opposition to the abortion from partners, family, and/or friends,

§  A history of mental health problems prior to the pregnancy,

§  Feelings of stigma,

§  Being an Adolescent (not an adult),

4.    Effect or Consequences Of Abortion

The immediate consequence of abortion is the risk of damage to a woman’s reproductive and her future ability to have children. The hurtful consequences- Post-Abortion Syndrome (PAS), may be emotional, physical, psychological, social, moral, and medical. That’s like :

§  When she undergoes an abortion she has a high stress reaction to the experience.

§  She can experience shock or horror, a sense of loss, grief, and remorse.

§  Back pain, abdominal cramps, and skin irritation.

§  Sleep problems – insomnia, nightmares, and ‘hearing’ a baby crying.

§  Sexual difficulties – cervical pain, frigidity, etc.

§  Trauma – because an unborn baby has been destroyed.

5.    Prevention

Planned Parenthood works to prevent unsafe abortion by increasing access to contraception and making sure that women have access to safe, affordable abortion care when necessary.

Prevention can be made with “A – B  - C – D - E” :

§  Abstinence

§  Be Faithful

§  Care With The Future Life

§  No Drugs

§  Education

6.    Pros And Cons

a.    Pros And Cons In Society

§  Pros

People pro with abortion, because :

Ø  Sometime life can be really harsh on us. There are time when abortion may appear as the only option for the betterment. Although a mother may have a hard time option for this option, she may eventually consider  this soul-killing decision, keeping in mind all the pros and cons of this decision.

Ø  In some cases, medical emergencies compeal a women to resort to this action. There is a possibility that her own life might be at risk, if she delivers the child.

Ø  Some of the rape victims can be minor. They wouldn’t be mentally or physically prepared to take care of the newborn baby.

§  Cons

People contra with abortion, because :

Ø  Abortion is murder

Ø  Life begins a conception, so unborn babies are human being with a right to life

Ø  Fetuses feel pain during the abortion procedure

Ø  Abortion is the killing of a human being, which defies the word of God

Ø  Woman should not be able to use abortion as a form of contraception.

b.    Pros And Cons In Group

§  Pros

Our group is agree and disagree with abortion. We are agree if the abortion is medically recommended, such as pregnant women who suffer from an illness and to save the woman’s life, the womb should be aborted.

§  Cons

But we also disagree that abortion in any use such as an abortion due to sex outside of marriage, due to give birth without the father’s shame. (because fetus has a right to life)

7.    Some Questions About Abortion

a.       Why abortion more happen in teenage ? (Hemi Nur Azizah)

b.      Where the most happen abortion in a cities ? (Khoirotun Nisak)

c.       How much percentage abortion in our country ? (Nisak Luvi Mega I.)

The answer for the questions :

a.       Because the teenage period is period where the adolescent be rolling in feel want to knowing something new, in teenagers is want the new experience and in this period have a labil condition. (Ferina Umi Nadliroh)

b.      The abortion more happen in big city or metropolitan. For the example is in Jakarta,  Surabaya, etc. (Ummi Fatimatuz Zuhdiyah)

c.       It is about 42% in our country. The result showed that in Indonesia occurred 42 abortion per 100 pregnancies. (Fio Trisyah Yuli Kartika)

8.    Conclusion

From the subject discussed above, we are conclusing that ‘Abortion is Murder’ – ‘Cold-Blooded Murder’. This is a crime in self and in baby (fetus in womb). Many factors and effect from an abortion. We are think that the most factors from this crime is ‘Free Sex’. A woman that doing abortion is also have many effect that can called Suicidal-Danger.

Pros and Cons is also supported this act. But, more cons than pros in our group even in society. Because an abortion is very cruel indeed. Abortion can be able that is because only the medical suggestion.

So, we hope to all of the teenagers so as to be careful with social gathering. We must relathionship care, kept in good health, saving family face and self esteem.
